I started IF (16:8) 10 days ago. Had tried and failed a few times, but this time it's going smoothly. I want to eliminate visceral fat and slim down, but I have not lost an ounce yet. How long does it usually take to begin to see changes?

During Covid, I began dying my hair myself. I think I went once afterwards and it took 3 or 4 hours in uncomfortable seats. I can get it done in 1.5 hours at home and in my opinion looks just as good as the salon. While my hair is processing, I can work. I get a hair cut about 2 a year, just a trim. My new endeavor is doing my nails at home. I have gone to salons for years but is also takes a long time. Both this things save me over $4k a year in my area.

I LOVE the idea of removing urgency. I saw a funny video recently that said "I'm sorry I'm not replying to your texts right away - I'm understaffed! It's just me in here!" 🤣 And while it really made me laugh, it also made me think! My goodness, why AM I expecting myself to take on the work of 2 or 3 people? I really resonate with the idea of setting the intention each morning to just recognize that there is no urgency! ❤

My favorite sleepwear is loose knee length cotton nightgown. Nothing polyester or containing recycled plastics. Only 100% breathable cotton.

I don’t like to iron and have trouble making the time until it’s the last minute and I need to wear something. So one thing I am trying to do is forcing myself to iron 2 to 3 dresses/outfits on the weekend when I do it it helps the morning routine a lot.

What a waste of time...being chic is overrated (and I'm French). How about taking that time you spend thinking anout being chic and polished and use it to be your self! Be funny, be colourful, be sensual, be intelligent, feed your mind, feed your soul. Be compassionate. All that talk of elevating yourself is just a disgused way of showing you are superior. Be caring and loving and educate your mind so you can be free to make deciions, not to be above others.

I am sure people who have suffered actual burnout, from a toxic workplace, who are physically unable to go about their daily life because of the psychological damage, will appreciate your very casual usage of the word "burnout" when speaking of the many social commitments you have imposed on yourself.

And people only roam around in pyjamas in the US and the UK. Not in Europe.

I get what you are saying. But I honestly think most people struggle at some point with a life that has lost a lot of meaning. And now they just acknowledge it. People used to have unhealthy coping mechanisms .... spending hours at the pub or the bar, making sure they would only come home once dinner is served, or shouting at each other rather thsn talking because everyone is bottling their frustrations up. Now people are talking, that's good. They are saying they are getting stressed with the money problems, the decisions to make, the pile of laundry, the endless errands. A life without meaning. Maybe if we can admit it is hard, we can look for a solution. The daily grind is not how we are meant to live.

I completed a 9 day fast recently. I started on the first day of my cycle. I had bone broth a few days in, checked my blood sugar multiple times a day, drank electrolytes in my water, and slept amazing! Breaking the fast with coconut water, watermelon and kimchi worked wonders for me. I’m an experienced faster and this isn’t my first long fast, but doing this fast according to my hormone cycle made a world of difference and I felt great the entire time ❤

I used to have Felicity in the 90s! I wish I held onto her for my 18 month old daughter today. We love playing with Stapelstein, Grimm's rainbow and wood house stacker and Schleich animals-- they're so lifelike.
